Laguna West is one of the larger communities in Elk Grove, sprawling through, western Elk Grove. The neighborhood provides easy access to Highway 5 and numerous shopping areas. It offers all the convenient amenities of a city, but was designed to be a low-key, family-friendly environment.
Homes vary in size and style, with wide streets lined with an abundance of trees and shrubbery. Pockets of greenery, cul-de-sacs and numerous parks cultivate a pedestrian-friendly environment. Laguna West is also home to Joseph Sims Elementary, which offers before and after-school care.
The neighborhood contains several parks, including Bartholomew Park, a ten-acre oasis with walking paths, playing fields and lake views. A number of smaller neighborhood parks give families plenty of options for play.
For the indoor, die-hard recreationists, the Elk Grove Sports Complex is practically across the street on Laguna Drive. The center is home to Surf Xtreme Sacramento with indoor surfing, trampoline, and paintball. Pins N Strikes (the largest bowling center in Sacramento) is also located in the complex, as is a California Family Fitness, which gives as much of a workout for kids as it does for adults.
